Illustration is a key component of visual storytelling at Varonis. Our product is a complex engine, and thoughtful illustrations help distill that complexity into digestible product stories.
Varonis product illustrations distill complex product features and functionality into clean, diagrammatic illustrations that illustrate — simply — how each product works and/or what end result it delivers.
The illustration style is built of reusable components, such as personas, representations of files and folders, and connections between. Wherever possible, use existing components to build your new illustration to help maintain a consistent visual language across all product illustrations.
Use to represent product users.
Use to represent objects such as groups, files, folders, rules, etc.
Use to represent threat models.
Use square and horizontal widgets to highlight dashboard stats.
Use to indicate tags associated with an event or user.
Use to indicate manual or automatic labels.
Use to indicate access approval and removal/denial.
Use to represent user permissions (create, read, update, delete, share).
Use established line styles to connect objects and indicate movement.
When white components are placed on light backgrounds, use a subtle drop shadow to separate them from the background.
Use sentence case for all illustrated text (with the exception of proper nouns, such as persona names).
For our blog, social, and other non-diagrammatic illustration, we use an illustration style characterized by strong silhouettes, dramatic gradients, and ecovative imagery to create a mysterious atmosphere. Linear elements are contrasted with solid shapes to create depth.
